Max Verstappens possible retirement?

So, this question has been circulating around the paddock, podcasts, and news outlets everywhere lately. Will Max Verstappen retire at the end of this year? This has left not only myself but my brothers and many other folks out there with mixed feelings. A lot of people are huge Max fans, and many watch F1 because of Max. Now, I’m not saying Max is the only reason people watch F1, but he is a big reason due to how large his following is. So, let’s dive into it from my perspective.

Now, I’ve been saying this since last year: Max hasn’t been enjoying driving last year, and so far this year, he isn’t having fun either. I think Max should retire after this year—go off and race in GT3 and other types of races as well. Go have fun and enjoy your life. I mean, we saw Michael Schumacher do that when he was racing in F1. He left for a period and then came back years later. I can see Max doing that as well—leaving for a period until he thinks F1 will be fun again. He also has a family, and as a father and husband myself, I can see that the race schedule they have is very intense, and he doesn’t have a lot of time to spend with them and enjoy it. But in GT3, he may have more time for his family. Or maybe another racing series has a better schedule for him to be the father and husband he wants to be. The best part is that Max has the funding and backing of many major companies, and he also has his own brand. Plus, you know that in a few years down the line, if F1 looks interesting to him again, any team will want to hire him. He could have his pick of the litter at that point.

Now, am I going to miss him if he leaves F1? Yes, I definitely will. You always hate to see your favorite drivers leave the sport and retire. But whatever Max decides to do, I just hope he enjoys life and his racing.
